Worried about my toadstool coral

I have been starting to worry about my toadstool coral.. I have had it for about a week and a half, and I haven't seen its tentacles for about 3 days. Today when the light came on, it emitted what looked like a milky substance, and then some white stringy stuff. It looked like a really think white hair, it had many other hairs off of the hair about every 1/8 of an inch. Its too small to take a picture of.. but it looks sorta like this

Any idea what it is, or what it's doing?
I have MH lighting, and all my water parameters are good.

There is a good chance that it is shedding. I have seen toadstools take a day to shed and currently my toadstool has taken a week to shed. Each time though the tentacles come out soon after shedding is complete. What kind of flow do you have on the toadstool? They like a medium flow to help with the shedding process.
