ok so it was about 4 in the morning couldnt sleep, the bright idea poped into my head, " hey why dont you pierce your lip, youve been wanting it and you dont have $50 "
so i got my stuff ready and started to stcik the needle in, to big went down to a safty pin, went down to a ear post ... perfect went right in
so i went to put the ring in and i cant get it through the verylast part of the skin
its now 6:07 and i still cant get it in
my lip is twice the size , and hurts really bad, i dont think i have cussed so much in my life
i have given myself 6 piercings and i have 10 that i have gotten done and this one by far hurts the worst
well i g2g try to see if i can get it in now

looks good but I could not do that.
You should of done it the way I had my first ear piercing. I was DRUNK and a friend did it for me. I did not feel a thing for about 20 minutes afterwards.
Still hurt because he pushed a regular post earring though and you heard three pops.

hahah funy story, my sister made our friend sit in the bathroom (sober) and pushed about 10 saft pins in his ear

Not having a good time. Let it go down and it should be all right. I used to live in Oklahoma City my Father was stationed at Tinker Air Force base.

Next time, I know a little late but try putting Numbzit(sp?) on the end of the needle. It is for numbing babies teeth and my wife used it to pierce my daughters naval.

i have that done too, that didnt hurt but i think the difference is im a pansy and do it slowly and the piercer goes fast and has it clampt

It does look a little swollen but it will go down in a little while then you can put on the ball. Ok, Got to ask what made you want to do this, since I have four daughters.

well my boyfriend and i were talking about piercings and we were looking at pics and i just thought well i want that
but i have wanted it for a long time really no reason behind themaddness
four daughters, thats alot, there are 5 of us and my three brothers have no piercings or tattoos or anything but between me and my sister we have 26 or so piercing
ive had to do most myself one becaue the money and two im not 18 but will be in april

I do not mind the ears and just got used to the naval. I am not sure about other areas that I have seen. My wife has one ear pierced 7 times and the other 5. Then once the fad of having your naval pierced was happening she and my daughter had theirs. It has seemed to relaxed and my daughter has not wanted other body parts pierced. She is a dancer and used to be a cheerleader so I am sure that her coach and dance instructor also would not let anything else get pierced. She seems to listen to other adults more than she listens to her parents

congrats on having more tolerance to pain than i...lol..looks good..anbesol is also a numbing agent and seems to work well on canker sores etc..peircings are nice if kept up and wanted..got my tounge done at 31 yrs old..still got it..hubby and i went did it together..hurt...possibly ok..hurt when done ya..druelled more than my 4 yr old when cuttin teeth...but i wanted to repsond and congratulate u for doing it yourself..*ouch*...

thanks, i went with my mother when she was 40 to get her tounge done and she said it hurt very bad. a few days after haveing it she put a retainer in and no one could tell she had it but she ended up takeing it out because she got a job at my church
my sister also has her tounge but she said it didnt hurt at all, and she had no swelling
i plan on gettign the tounge on my 18 ( i dont trust myself for that one)
my lip is now three times the size its suposed to be, i cant get the ring closed to but the ball in
it doesnt hurt at the moment but still the swelling is discusting
i went to my mothers room thismorning and lokd her i fell out the bed and busted my lip and it took her about 25 min to figure out what was going on

I suggest a ring with a larger circumference, to account for the swelling your lip is going to do - at least until the hole is healed.
i do hope you sterilized that pin before you used it... do lots and lots of warm sea-salt soaks to help with the swelling and kill any bacteria you may have left on the pin after sterilizing it (even fire can't get everything).
Have you had a tetanus shot, lately? We just had a patient come in with tetanus and it was pretty scary. Tetanus bacterium can live in metal for years and aren't necesarily killed off by a quick pass through flame, really only an autoclave can get rid of them completely.
Good luck with your piercing, do keep us posted - I could never do that to myself, I have to have someone else hurt me like that, LoL. You're a braver gal than I! ....or perhaps, just more masochistic

ooooouuuch! I can't believe you did it yourself! I used to have my belly button pierced... I couldn't even change the ring because I fainted every time I tried. One day when I got out of the shower I didn't know the ring got stuck on the towel and I ripped it right out... it was gross! I had my nose pierced 3 times, but I always took it out, because people told me that my nose would cave in, or I'll never get a job... and son on...I don't have it anymore. You can't even tell it was pierced. I just have my ears pierced now.
What other piercings do you have?
