Would a 125 be big enough for these two tangs?

I'm going to upgrade in the next year and I really want to have a yellow tang and a purple tang.Would a 125 be big enough for these two to get along or should I go larger?

it can be done... but theres deffinatly a chance that they will fight because they are both of the Zabrossa (spelling) species... but if you can go bigger go bigger, as big as you can affored

Well I'm no tang expert, but I don't think those two will get along to well. But if you keep just one you should be fine.

ive seen many tanks with a yellow and purple in the same tank (but also other tangs) so im wondering if other tangs in the same tank helps keep the aggression more spread out so one tang dosent get beat up too bad...

Yes purples are very aggressive but so are some yellows. When mixing zebrasoma species they need to be added together at the same time and hopefuuly from the same tank at the LFS. best to add them in odd numbers. In my 125 i have 2 yellows (get along about 30% of the time), a atlantic blue juvi, a red sea sailfin and a yellow eye kole.

Yeah for Allysia! :joy:
I had a yellow, a nasso and a hippo in a 150 and they never fought, just drove me bonkers with the race-track.
I realize a purple can be a real (&^#$ of a fish, but if you add them simultaneously, like Mayor says..
What other fish will you have?

What I already have in my 75: flame angel, 2 O. clowns, sixline wrasse, and my blackcap basslet. I haven't decided if I'm going to take my 55 down. If I move those fish to the 125 also then I can move my seahorses to the 55.

Is that when they whip each other with their scalpel (sp) thingys?

Yes, those things are their scalpels, if I'm not mistaken. Can leave some nasty gashes.
You know, since I upgraded to my 55, my tomato clown has grown quite a bit.
I wonder how big your O's and your angel could get in a 125. What a colorful tank, if you do put them in and add the yellow and purple!
