Would a naso tang be acceptable?

I have a 125 gallon tank with 180 lbs live rock, 5 inch dsb,, octopus skimmer. The tank has been running 3 months and I currently have 3 green chromis, 2 clowns, and a melanurus wrasse. I would love a naso tang and have heard various opinions on whether or not a 125 is too small. What do you think with this set up/stock? Thanks...

No. IMO nasos get too big. Imagine a 18" fish in a 72" x 18" x 21" box. Then imagine a naso in your tank. It's your tank, but I would never do that. There are plenty of other pretty fish that could do great in that tank.

IMO, a Naso tang really needs a 6 foot long tank. I have a Blonde Naso Female in my 180, and she's only about 5-6" long, but to watch how much she swims around, I can't imagine her being in anything smaller.
Also, the Naso sp. of tangs tend to grow father quickly, especially if they're male. It is your tank, and plenty of others have done it, but I think there are better suited tangs for your tank.
If you do choose a Naso, try to find a smaller female that has been captive raised. IME, the female Blonde's tend to grow slower and just adapt better overall to aquarium life.

I like tangs, angels, longhorn cow fish, puffers, triggers. I do have a few crabs and snails so I know that limits what I can get. I am totally open to suggestions. I just want to do the right thing! Thanks for your help!

You could do a longhorn cow. They are cool, IMO.

You will be fine. Get a blond naso tang. love the colors better myself. Get a male(bull) Mine has a long swept tail.....takes a while to get like that...about a years growth. very mellow fish loves to scoot the lenght of the tank, 72 inch's. loves the dried sheet algae. All my tangs play what i call rugby with a 2x2 piece of it until its gone then i give another. Absolutely loves regular frozen cooked and deshelled shrimp that you would eat,(approx 60 count, size) chop it up or do what my daughter calls "gross' and that is chew it and drop it in. Watch the frienzy remember always quarentine your fish or bad things will happen. good luck
