would a smartlite be good for a clam or would it not be. thanks for all help

smartlite?? I was told by a lps that the smartlite was only another name for a powercompact but more expensive.??
However, it would be according to what wattage they were. It just has to penetrate to where the clam is or put it close to the light on a rock.

Thanks for telling me that because i was thinking about buy a smartlite for my tank and getting a clam.

The term smartlite refers to a single U tube power compact bulb, that has both daylight and blue light properties. One side of the U is white - the other side is blue.
They are not considered adequate lighting for most clams.
