Would a UV Sterlizer kill cyanobacteria?

I was wondering this because cyano is a bacteria and doesn't the UV light kill ALL bacteria in a tank? And if so, why hasn't anyone else ever thought of this? Thanks

It would kill the cyno "IF" it went through the UV....but as cyno tends to grow/accumulate in areas of low flow...
