Im just getting into this whole saltwater thing and I want to setup a 125 gal agressive tank Well here is the problem I live in an apartment and most likely ill be moving out in a year. How hard is it to move a stable aquarium and will I have to start over from scratch again or can i pretty much just transfer a good bit of the water and everything return to normal quickly

If you think you can set it up again, then go for it considering a year is a long time. I think the problem would be moving the livestocks, considering aggressive setups are of large animals. I think I you should start out with small livestock and see how dedicated you are. If so, then go for it. I would dedicate an entire day to moving.

make sure ur apartment can hold the weight of a 125! its surprisingly alot! wouldnt want a tank to fall on a sleeping person below!

if i were you id almost want to put off getting a large tank like that. ive moved a 29 gallon when i only had 2 small fish, and that was really tough. i know probably not what you wanted to hear, and your free to do it if you want, but in a year youre gonna have a tough time moving that thing. good luck either way, and if you do decide to try it, in a year post a link up here about moving a tank, and ill tell you exactly how i moved mine.

you do have a point about weight I live on the third floor soo that could be an issue. Right now I have 25 gallon that I want to keep an eel in so I might just stick with that until I get a more permanent place of course by then Ill be out of college and well Im going all out Im talking huge like over 300 gal.

At about 8.3 pounds a gallon for the water alone times 125 plus the substrate and any rocks you can see you are well over a 1000 pounds. There have been cases of tanks going thru a floor if not set properly or the floor is not solid enough so you are probably wise to wait for the big tank till you move (and if to a apt try to get the ground floor unit).
