Would this work for a QT/Hospital Tank?

I have a 15 gallon that I was thinking about using as my QT/Hospital tank when I get my 120 up and running. Is this size sufficient? All my fish will be smaller than 8 inches at full length.
Also if I put 10-15lbs of LR in there, what else should I use for filtration. Should I get a cheap skimmer or run my Bio-Wheel 100 on it? And for substrate should I just get some southdown and go with that.
Any suggestions appreciated.

For a QT tank, I would suggest some Pieces of PVC instead of Live rock. That way if there is something on the fish, it will have a harder time "hiding" in the tank.
