Would you buy 2 lights or 1?

I have a tank that is 6" long. I can use 1 72 inch light fixture or 2 36 inch light fixtures. The price is about the same, as is the watts. Does it matter what way I go? I am thinking T 5.

just to keep the eletric cords to a minimum i would go with one unit.

If you're lighting a 6' long tank with T5 you're better off with two banks of 3' bulbs. You can buy a fully assembled 72" fixture like the Aquactinics Constellation which has (14) 36" bulbs, or two 36" retrofits if you have a canopy.
