Could I please ask why arent they I wouldnt want to take them out but I dont want to keep them running if they arent good for the fish

Yep, very poor filters IMO,IME. When you do your search my name should pop up on several occations.
UGF= bad filters for the most part, but they are easier to control with smaller tanks, below 55 gallons.
