Last week I put a hang-on skimmer on my sump for my 125g. I can't believe all the junk that it is pulling out. The tank is a year and half old and I was finally able to afford a skimmer. What a great piece of equipment. :D

my berlin h/o does a pretty good job, too! :D my simple explaination to my wife and kids about what it does "it's kinda like a toilet for the fish tank". skimmers are great, helps to ensure the water quality. tacks, by the way, if your h/o begins to not produce the same amount of micro bubbles even after you adjust the venturi screw, it may need to have the venturi valve cleaned. i had to do mine a few days ago. voila! works like a champ again. :D

Thanks chainsaw,
I cleaned out the cup last night. PEW!!! Man... It stunk!!! I guess thats a good thing. :D

cool that you cleaned out the poop cup. but check out the area where the air hoseline comes into the body. that is where i'm pointing to. it is the location that the hard piping comes into the body. it threads/spins in and that is the area that will fill up w/ gunk and i didn't even know about it until i decided to do a little further breakdown of the skimmer body. <img src="graemlins//angel.gif" border="0" alt="[angel]" />

Hey tacks--I , like alot of others am considering a new skimmer and this one sounds most promising to me--my question is--how easy or complicated is it to set up and maintain??? i had a real bad previous experience. I would sure appreciate any info on this one from you or anyone who has this particular model.
thanks guys
