Earlier this morning, while my fish were sleeping, I turned on my room's light and I saw a wierd bubble all around my cleaner wrasse. It seemed to be made of some kind of mucus, and when I turned on the light, the wrasse started waking up and struggling to push it's way out, which it did.
I read in all my books that wrasses like to dig in the sand bed.. but there was a big bubble of mucus all around the fish!
Once he left it and went to the other side of the tank, I fished it out. It was all gooey.
THis was my wrasse's first night in the tank.. could some kind of stress have caused him to do this?
THe bubble was clear.. there was no air inside, and h was breathing fine.
Can anyone explain what was happening there?
