wrasse sick?

I have had a leopard wrasse for bout 6 months now shes been doing but till recently,She has lost alot of weight and her stomach is bulging.Today my wife saw her lying on her side(shes never done this).I have aragonite cc bed and was wondering if she is swallowing it,cause somtimes when she picks at the bed she seems like shes choking,is this possible? pls help she was my first baby and dont want to lose her.thnks

it is most likely nothing to worry about,
my sixline wrasse has some simlarly wierd behavior and hes been living for a year now
hopefully he is alright

The problem with cc substrate is that is has sharp glass-like edges, definitely a problem for many species of marine fish. If the fish takes in a lot of cc, those sharp edges may be causing a problem within the mouth. I don't believe that the fish would swallow the cc.
