Does any one know if a coral banded shimp will eat wrasses, just currious thats what someone told me? I don't know if they are full of it or what.
My friend has a 125 gal reef and every time he adds a wrass it disapeares within a week, what do you think? He's had a watermelon, bannana, and a couple others that have all dissapeared.

Wrasse fish also can be jumpers, depending on the species.
I thought one of my wrasse was anemone lunch, only to find him when I moved my tank.
Truthfully, I'd be a bit surprised if it didn't go the other way around. Wrasse have a taste for crustaceans..
Do any other fish dissappear?

Is the CBS a large one? And I guess if these are juvie fish that your friend is putting in, it might be that he is eating the fish.

One more question...Does your friend move the rockwork around trying to find these wrasse? If so, don't. Many wrasse will bury themselves in the sand and not come out until they feel comfortable. Moving the rocks around could well trap them there.

No, he said he cant hardy move it around cause of corals. It has been several months since the last one dissapeared, he has since given up keeping them until he can figure it out.

does he have the top properly protected? they will jump if scared and given the oppurtunity.
i highly doubt a CBS can nab a wrasse. could be wrong, but wrasse are larger fish, powerful swimmers, with small appendages (to grab on to) and they are smart. If he knows that the CBS reaches for him everytime he goes near him, then he will swim faster past him and game over for the CBS. they are slow.

unlikely with wrasse, but it is entirely possible. if there is a will, jumping fish will find the way - out. it might take a while to find but i would check all along the floor bottom of the tank etc etc.

Every wrasse I've had has jumped. All it takes is turning your back on an open lid for a minute and there they go.
