Xanthid crab?

After picking up some coral frags from the lfs, we found a Pom Pom crab and another crab in the tank. After some researching, I am fairly certain it is a Xanthid crab. We were only able to see him for a few minutes last night when we turned on the hallway light and he was there. I am not really sure if he is destructive or not and was hoping you guys would have some feedback. We have lost a handful of snails and I am wondering if this guy coulod possibly be the culprit. He is not very big. Thanks for any info you can spare!

Were the pinches pointed or rounded? If its a xanthid, I think that they can be bad news.

pinchers were pointy... we used a glass with food in the bottom to get him out. I just didnt want to chance it!
