I bought a small bunch of pulsating xenia's
3 months ago (5 stalks) It has spread like wildfire, it now covers about 2 square inches and had at least 40 stalks on it.
Now for the question....
How do I cut these without damaging them?
I want to place them in another spot in the tank and share with a friend of mine, but, I don't want to kill it. thanks for the help...rick

I have tried a few different methods which all seemed to work - appart from the supperglue which didnt stick them. So far I have had 100% success with my cuttings.
Two methods:
Haircut; cut off single polyps near their base and place them in a container at the bottom of the tank with a mesh cover so they don't float away. The polyps should attach themselves to gravel by day 5. By day 14 you should see new polyps growing from the base.
Trimming; cut off a number of polyps by removing a whole branch. Use a splintered toothpick to skewer the stem to a piece of soft rock. The branch should have attatched by day 7.
I use scissors for cutting.
Although both methods work for me the growth is much quicker in the trimming method as the cuting has a greater mass to start with.
