Xenia dissapearing

I had a large very fast growing very healthy colony of Xenia in my tank All parameters are good ot almost perfect ( maybe only Phosphate a bit high at .10 This morning the wife feeds the tank no problem and a few hours later almost the entire colony has gone??? Just a few strains left and they dont look too happy??? What could have happened?? all the other corals have no visual effects? Help please

Well if your wife fed the tank and all looked fine and few hour later the entire colony is gone...you have an eater. Xenia will disappear when conditions are not favorable, but that takes weeks and even months.
My guess is a bobbit worm is finally large enough to start eating coral, Xenia is soft and meaty and most likely closest to it's hiding rock. They come in on the rocks and look like centipedes...they are no problem when they are little but when they grow they eat coral.

The way to be sure is to have moonlights on, and watch the tank...at night and when it comes out to feed, watch to see which rock it emerges from.

I couldn't keep xenias alive to save my life and I found out once I took care of po4, everything was fine and dandy. Try taking care of the po4 first.
oh and check your iodine level. Xenia seems to love iodine and if your brand of salt doesn't have much of it then you may need to use supplement.
