I finally got xenia growing on my back wall. My question is that since they are migrating UP to the top of the tank, what happens when they reach the top of the tank. WIll they grow more back down when there is no-place else to go?
thanks

It won't grow down like it grows up.. but it will slowly spread around that area at the top.

+1 eventually all the lower portions will die off and disappear - only the top will remain. And in my experience, the top portion (growing only on glass) will also eventually receede and disappear as well. For some reason, it does not seem to last long term on plastic or glass. JME

Can I take a razor blade and scrape it off, perhaps band it to a rock?

Yes - personally I superglue it rather than band it, although you have to be careful as the slime coat will often allow it to resist superglue.

Nobody said it wouldn't last..
...that the ones on the bottom will die!
I have lots of xenia on my rocks and I placed them the next to the glass on the side for them to climb...should I move it away from the sides?

I glued frags on plugs to the back glass and they all moved off the plugs onto the glass and now they are all migrating north. I think I will cut a few off the glass and rubber band them to a rock.
