Xenia Help

You all know I got a new xenia yesterday from my other post if you want more information. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/315205/coral-what-will-ot-be
Any ways, My Xenia stoped pulsing and the polyps ar closed up. What does that mean?
Water:
Ammonia - 0
pH- 8.3
Nitrite - 0
Nitrates - 20
Lighting:
50/50
18 Watt bulb
14 000k
Details:
Diatoms
Tank is 2 weeks old and no cycle because I used water/liverock/sand from my 60 gallon tank.

It was pulsing yesterday and not today. Is it falling apart or just closing up?

Just stopped. Nothing hels besides it being closed up.

They do that from time to time. Let it be and see if it perks up.

Noramal. My test kit rates it from low to normal to high. So it is normal.

it might be adjusting to the lower light in your tank?

exenia likes dirty water so to speak if its super clean water for some reason it wont do very well not sure why.

I figured out the problem!!!!

. My temp. was to low. It is at 70 deegrease. Im might go to my LFS and get a heater, Mag float.

I got my temp to 76 degrease and I mooved it up a little. We will se what will happen in the morning. (still no pulsing and opening wich is why I made the post)

Well the temp at 70 can't be a good thing. I hope it helps to bring back your Xenia.

Now the tank temp is 78 degrease. I moved the xenia up a little and the polyp are open a little but still no pulsing. I checked my water and all was good for a xenia. The only thing I can think of is not getting enogh water flow.

Maybe its TOO much flow? Xenia doesnt like strong flow....

70 degrees????? Holy Smokes Batman....the Xenia probably thought it was in Alaska....You should see some major improvement now that you have the temp up.

I got a heater. It is starting to pulse a tiny bit. But almost nothing. They are still now opening. I will give them until saturday or sunday and see what happends.

Imoved it down a little incase it was getting too much flow. It was. It is open

Something ive noticed.. i used to dose iodine in my tank every two weeks.... since i started dosing it twice a week... its been growing like crazy....
