xenia is hit ot miss when it comes to survival. i'd rather add a few cleaner clams to ur fuge. better yet, if u hv the light, add one or two tridecna clams to ur display tank. they will absorb ammonia and nitrate. and they need need feeding if u hv enought fish in the tank to produce waste.

u can never really get rid of xenia. once they r in ur tank, they seem to stay there permanently. even 1 or 2 polyps will eventually spread and grow/

Whenever a few stalks show up in my DT, I throw them in my fuge. I still don't think they're as effective for removing nitrates as a clump of chaeto.
