Xenia in Refugium Questions

Currently I have approx 10 gallon Refugium on an 80 Gallon. Its only sand, rocks, and chaeto. I was thinking of removing Xenia from my tank for two reasons, it grows like crazy and I want to insert SPS where it is.
There are a few questions...
1. I just recently (2 mos.) started dumping tigger pods into the refuge will the Xenia slow their rate of growth, will it eat them?
2. Im told that it can help with nitrate removal, how true and how effective is it?
3. Is it better to just remove it completely from the tank and give to a friend or so?
4. Also I run my sump light 24/7 I know corals need a resting period will this be a problem with Xenia?
Thanks in advance.

xenia doesnt eat pods. xenia does lower nitrate. its impossible to eliminate xenia once it takes a hold of ur tank. running 24/7 for xenia isnt a problem,

what do you mean by take hold
If he means anything like it did on my neighobors tank, it becomes a weed that grows like crazy. I always chaulked it up to him never cleaning his tank and giving the xenia what they need ... dirty water is my understanding.
