xenia not pulsing

Hello folks.
Wondered if anyone has thoughts on my xenia that used to pulse beautifully and now doesn't. I had a problem at one point that made them shrink. I was worried it would die but it did recover. Now it's growing again and has spread but it's no longer pulsing. What's with that? Any thoughts? Everything else is doing great and it looks healthy but no pulsing..........????? Would love some ideas.
Thanks.

Mine stop pulsing for no reason at all, and start pulsing the next day again for no apparent reason. It has also said to be linked to alkalinity. Try checking to see if yours is in an acceptable range.

what kind of lighting do you have? is it postitioned on the bottom, middle or top of the tank. i have my 24 nano cube and it used to be in the middle. and they stoped pusling for about a week. then i moved it all the way to the top and they spreaded and started pulsing again and i have never seen them stop. well my lights are 2-26 watt pcs. so not really that good.. and i agree with mudplayer they do sometimes stop for no reason

its very common and natural for xanias to not pulsate at times.as long as they dont appear to be melting or shriveling you shouldnt have to much worries

I have Xenias ranging from the top of the tank to sitting on the bottom. 55gal tank. My Xenias will stop pulsing every now and then, I think the xenias do better when I drip Kalkwasher.
Lighting - Orbit Satilite 4 -65 watt. I just upgraded to OS - 4 - 130watts

I actually have a bunch of xenia in my tank right now. Some xenia are pulsing and some xenia RIGHT NEXT to them are not. I don't think pulsing is a very good indication of anything really.

On the contrary...xenia is a good water indicator....not pulsing? Check your PH...alk....something is wrong.

I have to disagree here. I have a bunch of xenia in my tank about about 1/3rd of them aren't pulsing at any given time. It appears totally random as well....as the ones that aren't pulsing differ in location every day.

It is my finding based on my experience with the xenia I have that they like lots of current. They seem to pulse more with more current, reduce the current and the pulsing slows. Try upping the current.
