So my xenia's are splitting and splitting lol. used to be 2 stalks well one stalk grew and is splitting into like 4 different branches at the top, Which is fine with me.. but do they look ok..
Not the worst I've seen but they are definatley not all that happy.
When they are really ticked they will turn purpleish and shrink down to almost nothing.
Well what I do is a rule out. First test all your parameters, and if they are ok, then consider lighting and flow, pests or chemical warfare from another coral. Hope this helps.
All the algae on the bottom of it maybe a slight problem. If they are pulsing, water parameters are good, you have t-5s or better, and good flow I would bet your good. Did I cover all the basics. LOL
tested everything last night all is good. Well i didnt test salt, cause it broke.. i dont have t5's thou.. and i have good flow.. hmmm
oh and they are somewhat pulsing... not as good as they have before.. but still are
I blast mine with a MP40 in a 54g and I cut and throw them away every few weeks. One is no more than 2" from the side of the ph on the glass and is thriving. I not sure you can give them too much flow.
mine seem to be sensitive to any kind of change, for example I added a power head and increased the flow and it was upset for a couple of days but it seemed to adjust itself to the new flow and is now happy again. When I do a WC it acts funny for a day as well but then it's fine. So I think you can just give it a little time and it might be fine.
