xenias question

I have a xenia that is getting close to a bird's nest coral. The xenia stalk is stuck sideways on the rock. I cannot move the rock so I was wondering if I should be concerned about this.
Would the xenia harm the bird's nest? If I should remove the xenia, what is the best way of doing it. As I mentioned, it is stuck sideways to the rock.
Where can I cut it? If I cut it in the tank would it release any toxins?

The xenia can't sting the birdsnest, but if it gets big and close enough it could block the light.
What king of xenia is it? I find the elongata species VERY easy to just peel off the rocks. Other species you could just scrape it off and put it elsewhere.

Yup, that's the elongata species I mentioned. I just grab it by the stem and peel it off the rock. Shouldn't leave anything behind except a bit of slime.

Thanks Keonia, I just purchased a small piece and its growing like crazy.
Viper_930, if it continues growin and getting too close I'll give your suggestion a try. I dont want it to grow over the birds nest, I have enough xenia and I love the birds nest.
Thanks everyone for your replies
