for xmas i told my parents what to get me for xmas because they were at a loss now a days with me being 24. I had them order for me today a backup generator for the crazy circumstance that i lose power!
ive had a back up battery pack for heater/HOB refug. only, but i wanna power mostly everything but lights. (maybe even lights idk)
so on Amazon today they bought me a 1200 watt generator YAY i think this could save me a lot of cash in teh long run possibly

dude, thats sweet, grats on the generator, we're definitely gonna have to get a couple at least for our tanks, cause of where we live LOL

I have a 5600 watt great piece of mind it can run my furnace tank fridge and freezer

I would go with a continuous power generator for your home that runs on natural gas. I live on the gulf coast and most of the time that we loose power there is a gas shortage. When this things happen you might not be able to get to gas or might not have any but being that the natural gas lines are mainly underground you should always have gas. This i think is the better way to go if you have the extra money to invest, or at least look into.

yea you guys down there have issues with that, up north ive never ran across any issue with there not being any gas at the stations. if we lose power its usually for a day or 2 at most.
but for you people getting longer periods of outtages that makes sense. good point though
