Yeah for me, I bought 500# of SOUTHDOWN tonight !!!

Found a Home Depot that is selling it in my area. The real stuff too !!!
"Southdown Tropical Play Sand"
You ready for this, when I called earlier today, they had 49 bags, when I showed up, they had 10. Everyone has been buying in preparation for this massive ice storm  Anyway, 6 of the 10 bags were "ripped" so I got them at HALF OFF !!! Regular price is $3.87 for 50#. I bought 3 rubbermaid (trying to help broomer retire) 22g tubs to store the sand in. TOTAL for 500# plus three rubermaids.....$35 !!!
Can't beat that with a stick !!! So, if there is anyone in the NYC area, I can get you some and deliver it on my way to NYC after New Years. On a sideline note, the store manager was telling me something similar to another post on the board. Southdown after being bought out, is going to stop its production of sand and the Southdown name will only be used on cinder blocks. Home Depot is no longer ordering Southdown sand !!! They will continue to get the sand in the NE through the winter due to the large orders placed earlier in anticipation of snow/ics.

Mike
My parents live just outside of Fairfax county and I am going to visit them over christmas, and I need some new sand, which home depot did you find them at, I might like to check it out over Christmas.
Thanks Sean

It was at the one in Fredericksburg off of Rt. 3. I called Dale City and Stafford. There might be some in the stores up north...Fairfax, Arlington, etc.
It is kept out in the Garden center. NOT in lumber. It is kept back by the gravel stepping stones.
