Yellow And Kole Compatability

I think they would get along just fine, considering that they are from different genuses and that your tank is fairly big. No more tangs besides these two...you're pushing it.

bad news,bad mix.i have a 100 gallon and i tried this mix of a kole and a yellow.seemed ok at first,one week later the kole was dead and i had an ichfest ragin in my tank.ended up losing about five fish,including some of my faves.they did alot of posturing,then it seemed to settle down.but alas,they were fighting like no tomorrow after the lights went out.just my opinion,as i have tried this exact mix in a tank a lil larger than yours.i would not do it.

motohead, just curious, did you introduce the two tangs to the tank at the same time?

nope.i am supposing that would have made a difference.the yellow was there first.i dont know though,my yellow tang is a

and was the first fish i ever got.now i wish i did not get him.so many other possibilities that having a yellow tang.he has made it thru 3 ichfests though.cant say he aint a tough lil bugger..............

Yeah...the time of introducation is very important. Either add two tangs at the same time or add a less aggressive tang first, which is, in this case, Kole tang.
