i recently purchased a yellow ball sponge from my LFS I whent to see it at least 2 to 3 times before i purchased it...it was always in the same spot of the tank.....there were others in the tank with it.......it has now beign in my tank for at least two week.....yesturday i noticed it had moved from where i had sat it in the tank ... at first i thought it may be the current provided from the power heads....after all it is a sponge right and very light.....today i woke up and found it inside one of the caves created by the rock work.....and is suspended above the sand bed like it is trying to climb up the inside of the rock.....i know they are alive but i always thought they were stationary animals......do they move on their own..........
