Yellow Clown Goby and Panda Clown Goby in a nano?

I've read that clown gobies in a nano will battle (even though they're found in schools of 5-15 in the ocean
) which is too bad cause a rainbow of clown gobies in a nano would be fantastic.
But while the YCG is Gobiodon species, the PCG is Paragobius species. Does this mean they won't fight?
My tank, while only 8g, does provide lots of branches, caves, and nooks for hiding so it seems like they could each have their own area cut out and not have boundary clashes, if that makes a difference.
The YCB is currently my only fish, recently added.

It's 50/50 on whether or not they'll fight. In my own personal experience, they'll fight in a small tank, but are fine in a bigger one. Yes, they are found together in the oceans, but that is far larger than an 8G nano. The smaller the tank the less territory they have, the more protective they get over it. Gobies are territorial. I mean, I've seen two fight in a 155.
I wouldn't do it.

I understand the ocean is bigger, still, in a school wouldn't they be in the same proximity, or closer, as in a nano?
I will not try it and find out though. Plenty other fish to choose from.

Yes. But they can get away if needed and in a school, they're usually together from birth where as you want to add another one to a tank where territory has already been established. The reason for schooling in the wild is for protection, in a tank, being aggressive and territorial is their way of protection.
Most clown gobies in the hoby are tank raised from what I've seen as well. For what it's worth, I've done many dives and have never seen clown gobies schooling, I'm just curious to where you got this information from because I'd actually like to read it.
I had 6 yellows in my 155, all raised in the same small 30 G tank for months with no issues, when in my 155 and they killed each other. The last one standing then decided to take a ride through the filter.

I've always READ clown gobies may fight if placed in the same small tank. I've NEVER seen it in practice. I had a yellow and a much larger green clown goby and they'd perch right next to each other. Have had several clown gobies and never seen the least interest in battling with each other or anybody else. Pet store keeps multiple yellow, black and green in the same tank and they all pay each other no mind at all. so I'm just not buying whats "suppose" to happen.

I've had it happen in two separate tanks.

I have two tanks side by side, one has a clown goby and the other a flame tail blenny. My goby tries to attack my blenny through the glass.

I had a yellow clown goby and a green. They were fine for monthes then all of a sudden my yellow was gone. Never found him, green clown goby stilll doing well. I think the yellow wanted more room and jumped. Probably to be eatten by my dog. There's a tailspot blenny, purple firefish, green clown goby, rainfords goby, and a yellow cleaner goby. All seem to be doing well for the last 6 monthes.
