The yellow eyed tang is a beautiful fish. It is also a hardy one (from personal experience). He is indeed a tang, so lots of greens are needed to keep this little guy happy. He's a very active fish and would be a nice chioce for you (if you can find one). Check this site. If they don't have one, I'm sure they could get you one. Good luck. COOP.

cool thanks, i have him in my tank now and was watning to make sure i kept him happy. He is awesome, but likes the rocks i have a little cove that he likes to stay in, and not used to people looking at the tank yet, very shy but awesome to the eye. So lettuce or romaine? i gave some seeweed that he finally came to eat and scarfed it down, i feed the others brine shrimp gum drops, flakes too he does eat it, but i want to do it right. :D

I think there also called Kole tangs
I had one a long time ago in a 50 gallon tank he was good a keeping the algae away but he got really mean to all othere fish so I toook him back

From experience, try and stay away from lettuce and romaine lettuce. They benefit so much more from the seaweed selects. My little guy likes to nibble on the caulerpa growing in the corner of the tank. Remember, lots of greens with these guys. Hope he brings you a lot of joy. COOP.

We've recently had a Yellow Eye but up here they also call them Kole and Lawnmower Tangs and they are relatively common and inexpensive. This fish is very hardy and is great and removing algae from your tank (hence the name "lawnmower"). Make sure the fish is given a strong diet of greens and becareful later on because they do become agressive towards other fish, especially tangs. Good Luck!
