i just got the little guy yesterday he found a hole in a LR in the back of the tank. he has not eaten, yet, I saw him eat at my LFS.
so heres the questions,
when should i start to be worried about him not eating, and,
shouldnt he be making a hole in the LS?
any help would be apreciated.

Yes, he should definitely be making a hole in the sand. That is actually a good sign! He's making a home for himself! As for the eating...my didn't eat the first day...but he's a pig now. I'm sure he'll come around. :) Aren't they the cutest...

Misty neat picture. I love cool pictures wish I knew how to put some of mine on but I am computer novice, and lucky I get here to the board.

Hi,
My yellow headed jawfish, Bert, took about a week to come out and eat. He was so shy; he just hid in his hole. All I could see was his head. Slowly he worked up the nerve to come out and explore. Bert is my favorite fish in my reef tank.
Just give him some time and soon he'll be coming out to eat.
Good Luck.

I should have also mentioned that I have had Jawfish and found them a delight to have. I did not have long lived ones but They tend to do better with very mellow fish. I had one for a while that built his home dead center in the tank facing the glass it was very cool to watch him flutter there till he went to bed and pulled the cover over his bolt hole.
