yellow leather question

I have had a yellow leather (sarcophyton) since August 01 and it has done real well. Lately I have noticed tiny black dots about the size of a pencil point (three or four in a leather about 3"X4"). The leather looks and acts healthy in every other way but I was just wondering if this is a start of a problem.

I've seen spots on my toadstool that look similar to what you describe. Mine come and go. I don't think it is anything to worry about.
