yellow mimic tang solinity

how tolerant is the yellow mimic tang to freshwater dips and hyposolitity, and if i were to do a FW dip should i streight hard water (provided ph, temp and chemicals are adjusted) or should i use some water from my fresh water fish tanks?

Why are you planning a dip? Is the fish ill?
I personally tend to stay away from FW dips as they can be quite stressful to fish. In an emergency case, they can be lifesavers, but otherwise, treating with hyposalinity (14 ppt) is recommended. If the fish is healthy, no intervention is needed. Also, be sure what you are treating. FW dips do not cure everything.
