Yellow Ray Color Patterns

I have had my baby yellow spotted ray for a little over 6 months now. I recently moved 3 months ago and had to break my whole tank down and re-start it. Both my rays are fine but my yellow one has completly changed colors. He is almost a black color with small bright neon yellow spots. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? My other ray which is a Cali is also all black but has been that way for almost his whole life. I will try to post a pic later, I just had to format my laptop so I have to install the programs.

i know someone who has a yellow and he turned all black due to the tank having all black sand.. this may be a defense mechanism or he may just be stressed out a bit.. the only thing to truly watch is if he starts loosing his color completely and/or loosing his spots.. thats not a good thing. it sounds as if the rays will be alright IMO...just make sure there eating like normal!
