I have a yellow tang that is attacking my new fish that I got tonight. I need to get rid of him IMMEDIATELY!! What would happen if I let it go into the ocean(I live down the street from the beach). Please anyone that can help!!!! I live in CT. Thanks, Jeff

What kind of fish is the new one? What size tank? Hiding places? I would try to re arrange the rock and/or place the tang in another tank for up to 2 weeks. This rearranges hierochy and allows for new addition to settle in. I did this when stocking my 125 and it worked well. This still depends on what else is in the tank and the size. If this fails, return the fish...to the lfs not the ocean.

Don't end the life of the Tang and waste your money. You can buy eggcrates (7 dollars) at Home Depot or Orchard to use as a tank divider. Just lure him with some food on one side of the tank, and insert the divider. I would then rearrange the rocks and wait till the new fish settles in. What fish did you buy?
