Yellow tang swimming strangely

Hi all. Our yellow tang started swimming strangely about an hour ago. He ate fine today, is still moving around the tank to his regular places, but his swimming is strange. He is moving like he's injured, jerky, almost like he's lost his equilibrium. His body shows no signs of injury or parasite, and up to now he's been healthy.
Water params: 90 gal tank, sal 1.023, ph 8.2, temp 76.2. Amm:0 Nit:0 Nitra:0 ph:.1 alk: 2.6
I did a 10 gallon change to see if it helps. Anyone have experience with this? None of his tankmates are acting abnormally at all.

That is a sign that something is not right. Keep a close eye on him today to see if symptoms devlop. Check your water readings. If you have a magnifying glass, use it to get a close view of the tang to see if you notice anything. You may want to think about setting up a separate hospital, if you don't already have one.
Keep us posted with any developments.

Had a similar thing happen to me a couple months ago. It turned out to be my hood was releasing strong electrical currents into the water. Once I got another strip light everything was okay. It is worth looking into because my fish showed no sign of parasites etc. Just the jerky swimming motion.

Thanks for the replies...I don't have the electrical problem, but thats an interesting thought. He's doing a LITTLE better today, but still swimming strangely. There are absolutely no signs externally of anything wrong.

Ok..72 hours have passed, and the yellow tang is back to normal. Very weird. Not sure what that was all about, but I didn't like it!
