Yellow Tang

Okay! Don't everyone yell at once but I have a 32 gallon tank and I have a yellow Tang. I have had it for about 5 months and he seems very very very happy and healthy. I have read several posts about Tangs and I get the impression my tank is too small. Is it? He does seem healthy and happy. His tank mates include, 2 blue damsils, 1 dotty back, a clean up crew and 4 atlantic anenome's. I also have about 75 lbs or more of LR. I don't want to loose this Tang, he is my Fav. What can I do to keep him happy and healthy?

Feed him a varied diet -including vitamin soaked Seaweed Selects or Nori (dried seaweed) and be prepared to move him to a bigger tank as he gets bigger. They need room to swim - my books says 75g tank is minimum size. You won't be doing him very much good keeping him in that small of a tank.

Right now he is small. I do feed him dried seaweed and I use the saltwater multipak for his friends and he enjoys that too. Do they grow very fast? I have a friend who has a 75 gal for when he gets too big. But, for new he seems fine. Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly HOW FAST the Yellow Tang's grow to their maturity...but from all I've read hear on the board...for him to be really happy and healthy at least a 75 would be the right way to go...and I know alot of you might diagree with that...And to do a tank upgrade expense wise just for one fish I don't think is really too practical...but
the Yellow Tangs do best when they can have alot of room to swim and move...they are constantly in motion...you just have to read and get advice like your doing and then decide what you think is best...but whatever
you decide...only one Yellow per tank...
That's a whole other story... :D

The other problem I see in that tank is the four anemones. That's alot of anemones for a small tank.I would be worried that if the fish are scarred that they could end up as anemone supper.Tangs are a very skittish fish to begine with,he could freak out ans easily end up a snack.

he/she is skittish. the anenomes are small. He does have a large cave he hides in. Since I have a day care he/she is getting used to some commotion so he/she doesn't hide as much. Thanks, I will certainly watch for that though.
