yellow tang

i bought a copper ban butterfly last night and put it in my tank and my tang killed it. should i get rid of the yellow tang.

tank size? there are also some tricks to adding fish. you can put the new fish in a critter cage inside the tank for a couple days so the tang can get used to it. rearranging rockwork sometimes works also.

with an established yellow tang in a 55, you will probably have trouble adding any larger, slower fish.
 
something bigger (lot likely since you've only got a 55 gal) or a more aggressive/large fish that can hold his own, but not to the point of damaging the existing fish.
Re-arranging the rockwork does work, as does the breeder cup in the tank to keep the new fish in.

right now i have 2 mono's a yellow tang 3 various damsels one small clown a blennie should i stop there the aquarium where i buy all my stuff said it was ok to add a few more but i dont want to hurt anything else what do you reccomend.
