Yet another sand question

Thinking about changing from cc to sand. Should not be too difficult, as I only have 1" of cc, and rockwork is suspended above it on 2" pieces of pvc. I wanted to use southdown, but not available here. I was wondering what others have used that is fairly economical (I am always overbudget the way it is). Thanks much!

save up for some live sand, get the CC Out of there and put in the LS.

I would recomend crushed agronite sized 2 to 4 mm and take the time to build a plenum under it. It would be well worth your time crushed agronite will desolve and release calcium and stronium at a ph of 8.0 to 8.2
