yet another type of crab in my tank

he has a black and white design on his back

WOW! I can not believe how much trouble you're having with hitchhiker crabs! Did you catch all the Xanthids?
Anyways, I'm not sure what that crab is, I will definitely try to look it up for you.
Have you added any new rock at all?
I really think it's in your best interest with the amount of crabs you're getting in your LR to tear down the rock work and dip every single rock! Maybe even twice!

man i caught a mess of them little critters so far. and i have to be honest a tear down will be my last resort. i have about 200 lbs in the tank and the tank is in the wall with carpet all around (not well thought out when i built the house). i will continue to keep trying to catch them if they are bad.

i am going to pacific east aquaculture were i got it i will find out. i figured this crab would be easy to identify because of the unique design on his back. i also got a pretty good look at another one this morning it had one big claw that was red no pic

ok i found out were all my rock has come from.....South East Asia. never heard of that kind of rock and never would have guessed it. It is the best looking LR i have ever seen though. I guess they have alot of crabs in that location. all my rock was purchased from pacific east aquaculture
