I read a few posts about people making their own fish food. I was wondering how to do it, and if it is better for my fish. Also, mabe its cheaper than buying food, cause we spend a lot of money so far, and maybe this will save us a little $. Thanks!!

Really isnt much to it really. If you do a google search youll get 1000's of hits. Its more trouble than its worth and makes your house stink so I wouldnt recommend it.

I would recommend it. Beth gives recipe ideas in the first thread under the disease and treatment forum.

I used Beth's recipe and really it was no trouble and did not stink. It will only stink badly if your fish spoils. I even used our main blender and cleanup was easy. I just put about a cup of water with some lemon juice after cleaning and blended worked like a charm. You must cleanup right after though so the mix doesn't sit to long. I actually made enough food for about 3 months for $6.00 and I made packages of the following;
shrimp, scallops, fresh garlic, vita-chem, carrots, broccoli
clams, squid, fresh garlic, vita-chem, carrots, broccoli
I wanted to add octopus but couldn't find any.
Also about every 2nd feeding there food gets soaked in fresh garlic.
