We just had a "Serious" discussion about my wanting a larger sps tank, it was shot down, kaput, no more talking about, forget it!

Well, about 2 hours ago I was at the Grocery store and lined up a Royal Flush on a 5 hand machine and it DEALT me the royal on the first hand!!!!!!! Which payed 10k!!!!! Now I can get whatever tank design and setup I want

Looks like the Oceanic starfire is in my future...Funny how I already have most everything picked out.
215g Oceanic with the new signature series canopy and stand
MRC Skimmer and dual chamber reactor
Klalk stirrer
Still trying to decided on the other equipment

The only part about this that blows is that we went around and around about me getting the bigger tank, is that I just started adding corals to my other "new" sps tank yesterday. I realized that I couldn't get the bigger tank and I gave in and accepted the fact that the 75g was going to be it. Got it totally setup, dialed in, cycled etc...ARGH....

Max, I just got my oceanic starfire 215gal tonight, with black stand. Very nice setup. I'd never seen starfire glass until I ordered this tank, the lfs manager had a sample of the regular glass and the starfire glass and it was night and day.
Congradulations and have fun setting up your new soon to be tank!!!

Did you get the signature stand and canopy? I never realized how much a dif the starfire glass made untill I saw a display tank and stood at the corner of the tank where the starfire butted upagainst the regular glass. I kinda stood there looking at the tank thru starfire and then thru the side regular glass. It was night and day, even the sandbed color looked different. I can only imagine what this color shift will do to sps coral viewing. The stand and canopy I want is the new Oceanic signature in the mocha mahogony, sales rep told me that It might not be available till mid April.
.
Shawn, what other equipment are going to run? and what type of tank are you setting up?

I DON'T KNOW THE TYPE OF STAND, ITS STAINED BLACK, OAK. ALOT NICER THAN THE AGA PINE STANDS. I have a 67gal acrylic custom built sump/refug. I have 2-tunze 6010 streams w/ multicontroller, tunze 9015 skimmer, plan on upgrading to 9020. 2-phosban reactors for phosban and carbon, 18watt turbotwist uv ster. The tank is going going to be a predatory mixed reef. going to start off with zoas and softies at first and a little later down the road get a ca reactor and start hard corals. lighting will be Aquactinics Constellation 72" fixture, 14 x 39watt T-5bulbs.
