We were prepping to cook dinner when I took a few steps back and had a look at our kitchen... I felt the need to share it with you, in all it's splendor.
You know this hobby encompasses your life when:
1. You have a 50lb bag of Instant Ocean next to your Shake 'n Bake
2. The center island in your kitchen doubles as a place for your Quarantine Tank.
3. You have one of your RO jugs with a 75w heater inside it - right next to a pot of boiling water which you're about to cook rice in.
4. You have a bottle of chaeto next to your toaster oven (Back counter)
5. You have 5-gallon jugs next to the cat food on the ground (bottom right)
(Notice my 34gal RSM in the back... and my 14gal biocube in the corner)

That's great! I can't remember if I took a pic, but on my sons b-day, in the sink was, his cake pans, the measuring cup, and the protein skimmer collection cup. It was an ironic and disgusting display.

Nice, I have my display and a 15 long QT in my dining room. The living room has my 46 bow and a 20 QT. The stand for the 46 holds all chemicals. I have a five gallon next to the couch just for hoses and equipment

We should all take pics of our messes! Unfortunately, sorta... I just cleaned mine yesterday. My dining room is my fish room. My dining room table is my "shelf" and it gets so cluttered.

When my girlfriend and I moved in together, I wanted to put my fishtank in the dining room. She made me put it in the computer room. Now she's mad that I never come out. Ironically, it's the cleanest room in the house. If our kitchen looked like yours for even one day, I'd be homeless and single. PM me the number to your obedience school. LOL! J/K!

ntracy, I just noticed something. You have that tank on the edge of that island.
You might wanna look under that bad boy and see what's holding the tank up. 3/4 inch plywood is usually it. If you haven't already, you may wanna check the stability of that bad boy. I know (cause I've done construction most of my life) that people assume surfaces are unbreakable, cause it rarely happens, but it does happen. Stair rails is another one that EVERYBODY just assumes will be safe, lol. The open area above the fire place...just cause a TV will fit, don't mean... ahh, you know what I mean.

Well, I'm 6'5", 270 and I regularly sit on top of the island. I think we're safe. The QT is like 70% on the supported side anyway. I thought of that too, and wanted to be sure it wasn't going to be a problem since the tank will be setup for 4-6 weeks.

It's obvious chicken is on the menu, but what are you gonna do with the Wheat Thins?

I also have a tank in my kitchen, a 46 reef. Glad to see I am not the only one that is so twisted. Although I believe the bathroom tank is the point of no return, I don't have one yet, but I would be lying if I said I never thought about it

The wheat thins are the appetizer j/k
Acutally one of my favorite snacks is wheat thins with mozzarella cheese squares on top. I snack that all the time. My wife wants me to lose weight so she got a little bold and bought the reduced fat ones this time... they're terrible! Taste like little squared wood bits. Thank God for the cheese.

I could see that, do an in wall tank and use the closet (if you have one) for all the sump/refugium, other filtration, storage...etc. I can see it now, actually sounds kinda classy.
