You know you're addicted to this hobby when........

I'm a new college instructor and I teach several courses for the Community College of Denver. For the past several weeks I've walked by classroom that has a couple of aquariums in it. Each aquarium is sitting on a windowsill and they are full of algae. They look so sad and neglected! Every time I walk by it takes a huge amount of self control not to walk in there and find out what's in the aquariums. I have this incredible urge to clean them and move them to a better spot! Is this normal? lol

Normal??
Mandatory!!
Either find out what critters are in those tanks, require the "caretakers" to do a better job, or turn in your aquarist card.
-unless of course, they are intentionally growing algae...

That's so funny, I actually have considered that! I suppose if it's a science type of class, then anything is possible....
I will never surrender my aquarist card! I only wish that I had started this hobby a couple of years ago so that I could have registered at an LFS for my wedding...haha
I wonder what the instructor would say if I just walked in, introduced myself, and then began asking questions about their aquariums...lol
They might think I'm a little obsessed....which of course I am!

Perhaps SWF.com should come up with a wedding registry area! I see people register for non-traditional stuff all the time (golf clubs, camping gear, ski equipment) why not equipment for a SW hobby!
