Swfish has been kind enough not only to give us this board, but to pay alot of extra money for these additional topic pages. So I think it would only be right to use them properly.Like the old saying goes(USE IT,OR LOOSE IT)

I agree and the only time you should post the same thing in more than 1 forum is if you don't get the info you ask for after a few days in the one forum.

i know this might sound like a stupid question, but what about misc questions like...
how do i control algae...
nitrates are high how do i lower them...
ammonia, nitrites ,nitrates ph,phosphates and silicates are high
like the questions that just dont seem to fall under any catorgory
by the way mr salty, dont worry in that shark tank you would have plenty of space to swim lol

For that, Tank, I would post in the forum applicable to your setup. The Fish Forum is supposed to be for FO...the same for the Reef. So if you have a reef tank and are having problems with phosphates, then post in there. But really, in that situation, you could really post in Reef, FO and even in diy, because there are chemicals and even equiptment that you can use to control such. Try to post in the forum that is most applicable to your needs. This not only keeps the BB cleaned up, but it help the person who is having a problem too. They want to get answers to questions from people who have similiar setups or tank issues.

ok just as an expamle
fish only tank, wants to control nitrates via protein skimmer, diy
fish only tank , to control nitrates via live rock, fish only section
reef tank to control nitrates with skimmer , diy
reef tank to control nitrates with live rock reef
reef tank with sick fish, disease and treatments
fish only question about an angel , angel section
do these sound about right

i beleive there are a bunch of topics that can go in a couple different forums, but not both. when you say controlling nitrates in a FO with a protein skimmer, that could go in FO or equipment correct? this is really not that difficult. just dont post the same thing 100 times and try to use some common sense.

Also, I have saved myself from having to post in many forums, and saved y'all from having to read them by using the wonderful search service! This works especially well for topics that concern those new to the hobby--like me.
