I'm looking to set up my reef aquarium. Can anyone tell me the best test kits to buy? Also can anyone recommend their favorite pump?

I like my TetraTest Marine Analyset. Salifert is good (use that for Calcium) and I think most people don't care ofr Red Sea.
My Mag Drive is no question better than the Rios.

Just tried rios but I heard alot of bad things about them.Hopefully they are all wrong anyway try the salifert tests.they are the best for the money and DEFINITELY stay away from red sea I have had nothing but problems with them..Inaccurate readings, outdated chems etc.

I've tried many test kits - I thought FasTest and SeaTest by Aquarium Systems were pretty good for pH, amm, trites & trates, but their alk, phos and calcium were hard for me read the color changes.
A couple weeks ago I bought all new Salifert test kits and they are IMO ...BY FAR the easist to use.
No guessing
No wondering when the color turned from dark pink, to a faded pink, to a sorta pinkish blue then finally to blue .... it changes color completely with the last drop.
Much easier and faster testing water now ;)
Got several Rio's :( , but they all ended up in the closet with all the other misfit toys <img src="graemlins//yeahright.gif" border="0" alt="[yeahright]" />
Mag Drive's are good as mentioned.

I use Fast Test from Aquarium Systems.
And for pumps : Main pump EHEIM 1060, great great great. Powerheads are Aquarium Systems Maxi Jets. I got five of them on a wavemaker, and minimum sound when turning on. I tried others but they made noises when turning on.
