Ok so I screwed up and didnt FW dip my Zoas. Well I just caught a zoa eating snail and I had a nudi but it got away from me in the DT. Nothing like seeing the thing you've been hunting for weeks slip through your fingers. Well I know some of you invert junkies sometimes like unwanted pests to keep as pets. Let me know and I will send them your way, because I apparently am farming them.

How do you Fw dip a zoa and call me stupid but I want to be sure, and too lazy to look it up, is Zoa also the same coral as a Zoos? I just bought a blue Zoos and I want to know how and what to dip it in to not have the problems you just posted about.

Yes, Zoos are Zoas. I dont realy know what he difference is. It all depends on what you like. Some people dip their corals in FW for 15min, and shake them up ever 5 min. Some people just do a 5 min dip. It all depends on what you like. IMO dip them for 5min and call it good or 10min for good measure. But I slacked off and didnt do a dip, period. I thought I had a cool looking Nudi before I found the Zoa parasite list. Good info. FW dip it if you want, if not look for part of the colony to be closed and see if anything moving on it. If you got more questions just ask.

I am glad you don't mind my asking...
I am getting a shipment tomorrow of bright blue Zoos with yellow skirts...That is how it was discribed. I never had them before but they looked beautiful in the picture.
I have seen the tanks here with them and they look awesome.
Someone told me they dip in a iodine solution for 15 - 20 min. to get rid of disease and unwanted hitchers. That the ONLY FW dip should be no more than 5 SECONDS????
What is your opinion on this?

Interesting. I experimented with some sun polyps that were going down hill and now they are looking good. They were in FW for 15min and I shook them up every 5 min. I have never tried the Iodine solution before so I dont know. When you get your coral you need to inspect it before you put it in your tank. Look for nudi's about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch long and snails that are black and white about the size of a pencil eraser.
