Zoa Help

I received a couple the other day and when they arrived they had no water left in the thermos.
They have been in the tank now for two days, but I don't think they are looking very good. (They are still closed) Any opinions?

If they are still attached to the rock, and don't look shriveled, they are probably just really pissed. If they don't open up in a week, I would contact the shipper.

This may sound strange, but a lot of the big trans shippers transport zoa's and paly's in very little water. The reason for this is so the polyp will close and stay closed instead of becoming really stressed by continually trying to open.
I would contact the seller like what was suggested above, but these things can take in some cases 3-4 weeks to open. Keep them in moderate flow to prevent algae from growing, and try to be patient. Don't keep moving them if they aren't opening right away.
Also, how do the closed polyps look?

When I purchased my 1st zoa frag, I was told by the shipper that when zoas are dead/dying they just "melt" away. I've never personally experienced this, so I can't help to much.

Well the Zoa is gone. Didn't make it.

It fell apart all in the tank. I have heard that it can be toxic to the fish, is this true? Should I be worried?

we just had an anemone get sucked into the power head, and their toxic. we ran one of those blue filters that has carbon in it and everything was fine. in addition we did a water change.
altho atm i have new zoa's in another tank with a bunch of dead polyps on them and nothing else is dying. are you sure they are all gone? sometime you loose most of them but not all.

get the big pieces of its dead carcus out, and your skimmer should do the rest. i would do a water change though to get rid of some nitrates due to the rotting zoa..you can never be too safe. good luck
