zoa lighting

Just wanted to know about lighting for zoas, you see them so beautiful and full of color and then when they are in your tank they look drab and that brown color with a tinge of orange.
So my question, in order to have the colors really pop do they have to be kept under MH lighting??
I have a 50/50 pc on my nano and it really is not doing them justice but then again I don't have those really beautiful colors yet either.
My rics look good, the orange is orange and bright, but before I buy any nice colored zoas i just wanted to know if the lighting is the main thing to make their colors stand out??

They dont need MH to survive.. Alot of times due to differences in water quality they will morph to a different color..Example... I bought some Green Bay Packers one time...After 3 weeks in my tank they morphed to BumbleBee's
Alot of it also depends on placement..

my colors are pretty nice under t-5's as well. I had them under shitty pc's and they got a lot nicer under the t5's in like a days time. Also if you look online, sometimes they are shot with only atinics on
