I have this tiny frag of green buttons that I took into to my LFS today to have it glued onto a rock. Before I took them in they have not been open much, i did add a blue leg hermit crab and have noticed that this guy is hanging around in my green stary polyps alot and was wondering if he maybe picking away at these and the buttons??
There is no buttons missing they are just closed up, any thoughts on this??

My bad I just did, i had way more stars and watching him just sitting there pulling all the purple off, darn but i know they will recover as he did not get to many of them.
I do still have an algae eating hermit, never seen it before ever go near the buttons or stars so for now he is okay.
Do you mean that all hermits are bad??

Hermits arent really evil I just highly perfer snails over hermits. Not sure if the hermits are eating ur zoas and GSP.. What are all ur parameters in the tank?

Actually this bad buggar was picking the whole polyp off, today there is areas of the rock that had polyps that no longer have any, but they will fill back in, in time.
I have never had a crab do this but this one was nasty.
Oh well they other kind i have in there does not bother them at all.
